Arrived two days earlier than expected. While installation was not super easy it was not bad. The partshave worked excellently since installation 4 days ago.

This kit contains two gear sets for Liftmaster/Chamberlain garage door openers. First, make sure that you look up your door opener by make and model number so that you get the right part number. It is more difficult to install than the attached videos indicate. The chain drive should be loosened slightly to make removing the old gear set easier. Make sure that you thread the proper holes in the new gear set with the screws removed with the old set before you install it because the plate in the new set is not threaded. Once the new gear set is fully installed, it may be necessary to adjust the door travel so that the door will stop when it is closed. If not, the door may come down and reopen without stopping. Used these on my father in-laws craftsman garage door openers. The install easy just takes a a few hrs to install since you have to drop the opener down and work on it on a work bench. Quite a bit of disassembly of the garage door opener assembled needs needs to be accomplished to change about all parts in this kit. Definitely not a beginner project.

If you, like me, buy the 2 piece set, you’re out from under the repair for $12 and 30 minutes or so. Hardest part of the repair was re-setting the chain, but that wasn’t a big deal because I clamped in place before disassembly. Lots of you tube videos and you’ll want to watch one. It’s basically three bolts and a retaining pin. I have two garage door openers. Replaced both gears on the first one. Original worm gear was still good and a pain to replace. On second opener just replaced the top gear and it works good as new. You get all the parts you need for the job.

We purchased this to fix our garage door that would not lift. The motor would hum but the door stayed down. After researching this issue I thought it was a different problem but my husband took the cover off the opener and this was all chewed up. As far as the install it took no time at all. And our garage door now opens and closes no problem. It also helped with the loud noise it was making. Glad it was a 2 pack.
