The pockets are intentionally designed to carry gear, with ease of access, protection, and a secure fit. The bladder pocket has a lining to prevent leakage and the cell phone pocket fits my iPhone 16 pro with slim case nicely. The front chest pockets are great for my gels and my minimalist headlamp for early morning runs.I had a question shortly after I got it, and called the company number. I have been running for decades, averaging between 10 to 30 miles per week. I have been looking for a good hydration vest for years. After churning through dozens handhelds, fanny packs, and hiking hydration vests, I finally took the time to find a vest designed by runners - you know, light weight, comfortable, minimal-sloshing, storage for phone, etc. This meets all of my criteria. My runs rarely go past 8-9 miles, so the small bladder size was perfect for me.I bought the vest in December 2024 and, wouldn't you know it, one of the seams on the bladder split during the middle of a run, dousing me with water. As I'm sure this is a great pak for some, unfortunately it wasn't for me. First time running with this pak I had to keep adjusting the straps, doesn't go tight enough. I'm 6' and about 200lbs even at the tightest I could get the straps it wouldn't stop moving around. Sorry FITLY

I debated heavily on whether or not I felt like the Sub90 Running Hydration Vest was worth the $80, especially when I already have a CamelBak. After just a single run, I can say that it absolutely is.It only holds around 15 ounces of water, but that's perfect for relatively short runs (a 10k or less), especially in the heat and humidity of Houston summer. The bag didn't bounce at all, I couldn't feel or hear the water sloshing around (one of the major drawbacks of my CamelBak), and for the most part, I honestly almost completely forgot that I was wearing it.I was able to fit the full water bladder, my full wallet, an airport case, and my mace with no issues. I've used this on a few 10+ mile long runs to try and hone in on keeping hydrated in the warmer months now to see if it helps with my stamina, instead of going on runs without mid-run hydration and energy. I don't feel like i've noticed a huge difference in how long I can pull through, but this pack helps me carry plenty of water (or a drink of choice) and a lot along with me in both the pack itself and the front pockets. They are a bit tough to open while at a decent pace, but when you get the hang of it, it works out pretty well. I was in search of a hydration pack that was big enough to get me through my 10-11 mile long runs but not so big that I felt like I was carrying a backpack. This pack so far is perfect! I have ran numerous long runs with this pack and it is super light weight and comfortable. I recently wore it for a half marathon when the temperature jumped up and I knew I would need extra hydration on the course! The front pockets are perfect to hold run fuel (GU, stinger chews, etc). I do have to un-buckle the pack and tip upwards to get the last few ounces of water out because the water tube hooks to the TOP of the hydration bladder. Honest review: this backpack is lightweight, it stays in place/doesn’t shuffle around, the magnetic harness clip is weirdly effective at keeping it on (was unsure about that before ordering) and also super convenient for taking off quickly it’s the best of both worlds. The bladder is definitely small and not meant for super long runs or for people that want to be chugging water the whole time but if you just take reasonable sips throughout your runs/races and don’t need a lot of water with you this is a great pack. The pockets in the front are so discreet and perfect for chapstick, energy chews, airpods, key whatever and the phone pocket in the back is a must so your phone isn’t jostling around. What a great running pack! It’s not too big, it’s not too small. I used to use a belt style for jogging/power walks, but have found they bounce around too much, so I started investigating running packs. I didn’t want something that would be too heavy or make me more sweaty while working out (why I was initially a fan of belts), but as cell phones got bigger, more “stuff” was needed on jogs (chapstick, mace, etc.), and the climate got hotter, I knew I needed a “better” system.This Sub90 is the perfect size.
