MURIEL ANGELUS The English stage and screen actress signs this inscription to a teacher on a photograph of her standing against a pedestal Inscribed photograph signed: "To my beloved 'Teach',/in whose inspired love/of life, and teaching, I find/the recipe necessary/for success and/happiness-/Sincerely, and with love,/Muriel/10/21/48" in black ink. 8x10. London-born leading lady Muriel Angelus (1909-2004), who had begun her career in show business as a singer at the age of 12, appeared on stage as well as in feature films, introducing the song, "Falling in Love with Love" in the 1938 Broadway show, "The Boys From Syracuse". Angelus, who appeared in films from 1928-1940, was married to Scottish actor John Stuart from 1928 until their divorce in 1938 and to Radio City Music Hall orchestra conductor Paul Lavalle from 1946 until his death in 1997. Toned and faded. Corners rounded and creased. Right edge has multiple creases. Stamp on verso.
